PEMALANG – Kebebasan pers kembali tercoreng di ruang publik. Insiden pengusiran sejumlah wartawan dari Media Cetak Online Beritabersatu.com, Wartanasional.com, dan Wartajavaindo.com saat meliput konser musik di Terminal Induk Pemalang, menuai kecaman keras dari Ketua Umum Gabungan Media Online Cetak Ternama (GMOCT), Agung Sulistio. Ia menyebut tindakan tersebut sebagai bentuk pembungkaman informasi dan pelanggaran serius terhadap Undang-Undang Nomor 40 Tahun 1999 tentang Pers.
Agung Sulistio menegaskan bahwa jurnalis yang hadir di lokasi telah menunjukkan identitas resmi dan menjalankan tugas sesuai Kode Etik Jurnalistik Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia. Namun, mereka justru diusir tanpa alasan jelas oleh pihak penyelenggara. “Ini pelecehan terhadap profesi wartawan dan penghinaan terhadap amanat undang-undang. Wartawan datang bukan untuk bersenang-senang, tapi untuk menjalankan fungsi sosialnya: menyampaikan informasi kepada publik,” tegas Agung dengan nada tinggi.
Ketua Umum GMOCT itu menilai, tindakan tersebut mencerminkan minimnya pemahaman hukum dan penghormatan terhadap kebebasan pers di daerah. Ia menekankan bahwa kebebasan pers adalah hak konstitusional yang dijamin Pasal 4 ayat (2) dan (3) UU Pers, yang menegaskan bahwa pers nasional bebas dari segala bentuk penyensoran, pembredelan, atau pelarangan peliputan. “Ketika wartawan dihalang-halangi, yang dirampas bukan hanya hak mereka, tapi hak rakyat untuk tahu,” ujarnya dengan tegas.
Sementara itu, praktisi hukum dan akademisi dari Law Office Putra Pratama & Partners, Imam Subiyanto, S.H., M.H., CPM, menegaskan bahwa tindakan pengusiran terhadap wartawan termasuk delik pidana sebagaimana diatur dalam Pasal 18 ayat (1) UU Nomor 40 Tahun 1999 tentang Pers. “Siapa pun yang dengan sengaja menghambat atau menghalangi kerja jurnalistik dapat dipidana penjara dua tahun atau denda hingga Rp500 juta. Ini pelanggaran nyata terhadap kebebasan pers,” tegas Imam.
Agung Sulistio mendesak Pemerintah Kabupaten Pemalang, aparat penegak hukum, serta panitia penyelenggara konser untuk segera memberikan klarifikasi dan permintaan maaf terbuka kepada tiga media cetak online yang diusir. “Penyelenggara acara publik wajib menjamin akses informasi yang adil bagi seluruh jurnalis. Jangan sampai ruang publik berubah menjadi ruang pembungkaman,” ujarnya. GMOCT juga menyerukan agar pemerintah daerah mengevaluasi izin kegiatan agar kasus serupa tidak terulang.
Lebih jauh, GMOCT bersama Law Office Putra Pratama & Partners mendorong seluruh organisasi pers di Indonesia untuk mendokumentasikan dan melaporkan setiap bentuk penghalangan peliputan ke Dewan Pers dan Komisi Informasi Publik (KIP). Hal ini, kata Agung, penting untuk memastikan penegakan hukum berjalan konsisten dan kebebasan pers tetap terlindungi. “Kami tidak akan membiarkan kebebasan pers dipermainkan oleh kepentingan tertentu. Pers harus berdiri tegak di atas kebenaran,” ujarnya tegas.
Kasus pengusiran wartawan di Pemalang ini menjadi peringatan keras bagi seluruh pihak bahwa kebebasan pers tidak boleh dianggap remeh. Pers adalah pilar keempat demokrasi yang berfungsi menjaga transparansi dan akuntabilitas publik. “Jika pilar ini diruntuhkan oleh arogansi dan ketidaktahuan, maka demokrasi kita perlahan akan lumpuh.
